Christmas

It goes without saying that this Christmas won’t be what we were expecting in all sorts of ways. But then, that’s exactly how it was at the very first Christmas!

All the churches in our Team warmly invite you to celebrate with us the unexpected news of Christmas, as we rejoice at how light dawned in the midst of darkness.

Read on for details of all the services and events we have planned – and check this page in case any changes are necessitated by new coronavirus restrictions. All services and events will be held subject to government regulations and in COVID-19 secure environments.

St. Cuthbert’s Christingle

Our annual all-age Christingle service will be going DIY this year as we introduce ‘Christingle in a Bag’.

Come and see us in front of St Cuthbert’s in the centre of Thetford on Saturday 19th December (10 a.m. to 12 noon) or Tuesday 22nd December (11 a.m. to 12 noon) to collect a bag with all the resources and instructions you need to make your own Christingle at home.

Alternatively, find an orange, some red ribbon (or red tape), some tin foil, a candle, some cocktail sticks and some sweets and/or dried fruit and download the instructions that tell you what to do.

Then join us on the afternoon of Christmas Eve (3.30 p.m.) for an online Christingle service from your own home!

If that time’s not convenient for you, the service will remain available online for you to watch later.
